Representatives
State, Transit, and University

Representatives from states, transit organizations, and universities are appointed to provide liaison between TRB and the organization or institution.
The associated pages provide lists of these representatives.

State Representatives
State representatives are recommended by chief administrative officers of the state highway and transportation departments and appointed by the TRB Executive Director to provide liaison between the departments and the Board. The representative's primary function is to keep the highway or transportation department informed of TRB activities and to keep TRB advised of the current and contemplated research activities of the department. Read more

Transit Representatives

Transit representatives are recommended by general managers or other appropriate officials of transit organizations and are appointed by the TRB Executive Director to provide liaison between the organizations and the Board. The representative's primary function is to keep the organization informed of TRB activities and to keep TRB advised of the current and contemplated research activities of the organization. Read more

University Representatives 
University representatives are recommended by appropriate officials of the university and are appointed by the TRB Executive Director to provide liaison between the universities and the Board. The representative's primary function is to keep the university informed of TRB activities and to keep TRB advised of research and other pertinent activities at the university. Read more
