Review of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration’s Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast System
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Inspector General has released a report that assesses the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration’s progress toward deploying and testing the Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) ground system and identifies possible capabilities and benefits of ADS-B. In addition, the report estimates ADS-B’s current cost, schedule, and planned benefits as measured against original program goals.
