Review: Federal Aviation Administration’s SENSR Program
The Office of the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Transportation has released a report that assesses the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) Spectrum Efficient National Surveillance Radar (SENSR) program. The FAA has partnered with three other agencies through the SENSR program to auction government-owned electromagnetic spectrum frequencies and use the revenue to develop and deploy new radar systems. This report identifies how the FAA leverages work conducted by these other agencies and analyzes its plans to mitigate program risks.
