TRB is cosponsoring the 11th International and 2nd North American Symposium on Landslides on June 2-8, 2012, in Banff, Alberta, Canada. The theme of this joint symposium is Landslides and Engineered Slopes: Protecting Society through Improved Understanding.

The objective of the symposium is to provide a forum to explore and share ideas on landslides hazards and learn how to mitigate their impact on society. Issues expected to be explored include the investigation, classification, monitoring, analysis, and mitigation of landslides.

The symposium will also focus on innovative slope analysis techniques and landslide solutions.
