TRB conducted a webinar on May 30, 2013 from 2:00 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. ET that featured research conducted by TRB’s Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) about challenges airport administrators face that are associated with the changing needs of the aviation industry.

In order to meet specific strategic and business related goals, it is important to gain an understanding of the issues affecting policy, organization, and workforce development. The presentations in this webinar will highlight the following ACRP reports that address these issues:
Rusty Chapman of Delta Airport Consultants, Inc. will present results of
ACRP Synthesis 58: Airport Industry Familiarization and Training for Part-Time Airport Policymakers. He will summarize issues with which the part-time policy maker should generally be familiar, as well as a recommended aviation industry familiarization and training programs for the part-time airport policy maker.
Kim Kenville of Kim Kenville Consulting will present information about an
ACRP synthesis project on Airport Organization. She will discuss tools that can help airport managers manage their organizations to best meet the changing needs of the aviation industry, including relevant organizational design and current trends and practices.
Seth B. Young of International Aviation Management Group, Inc., will present
ACRP Synthesis 18: Aviation Workforce Development Practices . He will explore skill sets, training resources, and educational and advancement opportunities for various airport-operating entity jobs.

The first 60 minutes of the webinar is for presentations and the final 30 minutes is reserved for audience questions.
