TRB Straight to Recording For All: Applying Game Theory to Promote Strategic Decision-Making in Marine Transportation Scenarios
TRB recorded a series of videos in June 2016 on how game theory can help promote strategic decision-making in four marine transportation scenarios. Game theory uses mathematical models to examine conflict and cooperation between rational decision makers. The marine transport and port industry have a diverse spectrum of stakeholders whose needs and interests can conflict. This can create planning and management challenges for both regulators and the maritime transportation community. The presentations provide four examples of how game theory can help understand competing stakeholder interests.
