TRB is sponsoring the Transportation Hazards and Security Summit and Workshop 2010: Focus on Implementation on August 23-26, 2010, in Irvine, California. The summit will provide an opportunity for individuals to provide input on a three-year security and emergency management research implementation plan produced as part of a National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) project. The plan is intended for use by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials’ (AASHTO’s) Special Committee on Transportation Security and Emergency Management (SCOTSEM).
Participants are invited from any of the following entities: SCOTSEM; AASHTO Special Committee on Wireless Communications Technology; TRB NCHRP Project Panel 20-59, Surface Transportation Security Research (NCHRP 20-59); the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration; the Transportation Security Administration’s Highway and Motor Carrier Division; and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate, Infrastructure and Geophysical Division. Others may attend open sessions on a space-available basis.
There is no registration fee for the summit, however, all attendees must
