TRB conducted a webinar on January 21, 2015, from 2:00pm to 3:30pm ET that provided an overview of
NCHRP Report 777: A Guide to Regional Transportation Planning for Disasters, Emergencies, and Significant Events. Webinar presenters identified foundational planning principles covered in the guide, strategies to implement these principles, and examples and case studies where regional planning includes transportation to address disasters, emergencies, and significant events.
A certificate for 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) was provided to attendees who registered and attended the webinar as an individual. This webinar has been approved by the American Institute of Certified Planners for 1.5 Certification Maintenance Credits. Contact Reggie Gillum at

The first 60 minutes of the webinar will be for presentations and the final 30 minutes will be reserved for audience questions. The Registered Continuing Education Program (RCEP) categorizes this webinar activity as relating to health, safety, and welfare including core technical.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Summarize interdisciplinary and multijurisdictional perspectives on emergency planning, transportation planning, and resilience planning;
- Communicate the importance of such interwoven perspectives to peers, stakeholders, and decision makers; and
- Draw upon the tools, strategies, examples, and case studies of the guide to influence policy discussions and decisions related to regional transportation planning for disasters, emergencies, and significant events.

Professional Development Hour Information
A certificate for 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) will be provided to Professional Engineers (PEs) who register and attend the webinar as an individual. For groups, only the person that registers and attends the session will receive a PDH certificate.
