TRB offers American Institute of Certified Planners Credits for select, live TRB webinars
||TRB is a registered provider with the American Planning Association's (APA’s) professional institute, the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). AICP credits can be claimed by certified planners for attending select, live TRB webinars.
Webinars providing AICP credits will include this detail on the webinar registration page, registration confirmation email, and webinar reminder email. TRB is not authorized by AICP to provide credits for recorded webinars.

TRB offers Professional Development Hour certificates to attendees of select, live TRB webinars
TRB is authorized to issue Professional Development Hours (PDH) for live webinars. PDHs are used by licensed engineers to maintain their continuing education credits with their licensing board. TRB is a registered education provider with the Registered Continuing Education Provider (RCEP) program, which is managed by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). TRB will report attendee participation to RCEP. Attendees will receive and email confirmation from RCEP when their certificate is available for download from www.RCEP.net.
Attendees should still contact their state licensing boards if they have any questions about the eligibility of PDHs from any TRB webinar. For example, some TRB webinars that provide PDHs on topics related to business practices are accepted by some state licensing boards and not accepted by other boards.
Some webinar subjects may not warrant PDH certificates. Please refer to the webinar registration page, confirmation email, and reminder email to determine if the webinar topic may be eligible for PDHs.
TRB is not authorized by RCEP to provide PDH certificates for TRB webinars held prior to February 2011, recorded webinars, live meetings, or live conferences.
Attendees who want to receive PDHs for attending live TRB webinars:
- Persons wishing to receive a PDH certificate for a live TRB webinar must individually register and attend the webinar. People who do not individually log in to the webinar and view the full session will not be eligible for PDH certificates.
After the webinar, TRB will review webinar log-in information to verify attendance. Then, TRB will provide the names of those that attended the entire session to RCEP.net.
TRB cannot provide partial credit for sessions.
RCEP will email attendees after TRB reports credits with instructions for retrieving the certificate.
If an email from RCEP is not received: Visit RCEP.net to retrieve the certificate. Enter the email address used to register for the webinar and password into RCEP's site, or select "Forgot Password."

If a certificate has not been posted in RCEP.net within two weeks after the webinar, please contact Reggie Gillum at RGillum@nas.edu for assistance.
After the attendee information has been submitted, the attendee can use RCEP.net to track and manage PDH certificates provided by TRB.
Presenters who participate in live TRB webinars that offer PDH certificates:
- For groups, only the person who is registered and logs into the webinar will be eligible to receive a PDH certificate.
- Make sure that the webinar registration name reflects the person that would like to receive a PDH certificate.
- The registrant must log in to the webinar and view the webinar in its entirety.
TRB Senior Program Officers or webinar requesters who organize live TRB webinars:
- All presenters must read and sign the Presenter Quality Commitment Form before the live webinar.
- Company branding and logos may not be used on PowerPoint Presentation slides for the entire webinar. But presenters and moderators may email the TRB staff facilitating the webinar with a logo to be displayed in approved areas. The logo limitations include the TRB, state, and federal agency logos. However, company or agency names may be mentioned in text on slides.
- Webinar suggestion forms may be submitted at any time.
- Forms received by March 15 of each year will be scheduled from July to December of the same year. Forms received by October 15 will be scheduled from January to June of the following year.
- For webinars addressing transformational technology, resilience, and public health and transportation, these webinars may be scheduled at any time throughout the year.
- Webinars must include a learning objective. The learning objective must state what outcomes an attendee would receive if he or she attended the webinar. TRB has provided guidance on writing learning objectives for webinar requesters.
- The webinar requester and presenters are responsible for ensuring that the presenter PowerPoint presentation slides match the listed webinar learning objectives and course outline.
