Review on DOT’s Fiscal Year 2017 IPERA Compliance
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Office of the Inspector General has released a report that determines whether DOT complied with the Improper Payments Elimination and Recovery Act (IPERA)’s requirements as implemented by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB). IPERA requires federal agencies to report improper payment estimates for all programs identified as susceptible to significant improper payments. It also requires agencies to limit improper payments to less than 10 percent of their total program payments, publish their results in the Agency Financial Report, and comply with regulations OMB developed.
