GHG Emissions Inventories Updated with Latest (2004) EPA and EIA Data
The Center for Climate Change and Environmental Forecasting, an initiative of the U.S. Department of Transportation, has updated its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventories to include 2004 data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA). The federal government tracks gases that the United States releases into the atmosphere in emission inventories. According to the Center, transportation activities accounted for more than a quarter of total U.S. greenhouse gas emissions in 2004.
