Factors Contributing to Pedestrian and Bicycle Crashes on Rural Highways

The U.S. Federal Highway Administration has released a summary report that examines the differences between pedestrian and bicycle crashes in urban and rural settings in North Carolina. The report also examines problem areas, such as specific crash types and crash locations, on rural highways that are of potentially high priority for safety treatment or treatment development.
