2002 Vehicle Inventory and Use Survey: November 2004 Update
The U.S. Census Bureau has released additional state-by-state results of its latest Vehicle Inventory and Use Survey, including information on fuel efficiency, annual mileage, primary range of operation, permanent equipment, and other physical and operational characteristics for pickups, sport utility vehicles, minivans, all other single-unit trucks, and truck-tractors. The latest state results released are from Alaska, Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, New Mexico, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming. This brings to 47 the total number of states' results now available. This survey is conducted every five years as part of the economic census. All remaining state reports (Kansas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee) and a U.S. Summary are expected to be available at the beginning of December. The microdata CD-ROM is expected to be available around the end of this year.
