Evaluation of the AIMS2 and Micro-Deval to Characterize Aggregate Friction Properties
The National Center for Asphalt Technology at Auburn University has released a report that evaluates the feasibility of using the Aggregate Imaging Measurement System Model AFA2A (AIMS2) device with the Micro-Deval device in the laboratory to qualify the pavement friction performance of aggregate in the field. The report explores a possible correlation between the laboratory results and locked-wheel skid trailer field friction data.
