Cost-Effective Uses of Lightweight Aggregate Made from Dredges Material in Construction
The Ohio Department of Transportation has released a report that evaluates the quality of dredged materials taken from the harbors of Cleveland and Toledo, and their suitability to produce lightweight aggregate (LWA). LWA can be used in concrete to reduce the aggregate’s self-weight and improve its durability. Dredged sediment has been identified as a raw material for LWA production.
