Infrastructure-Friendly Vehicles to Support Texas Economic Competitiveness
The Center for Transportation Research at the University of Texas at Austin has released a report that evaluates the effects of single, tandem, and tridem axel configurations for vehicles on bridges and pavements. The report quantifies the relative highway infrastructure consumption of different axle loads and vehicle configurations, and develop a cost recovery structure that may adequately fund repairs to roads used by overweight trucks.
