Physical Activity: Moving Toward Obesity Solutions
The Food and Nutrition Board, part of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Institute of Medicine has released the summary of an April 14-15, 2015, workshop that explored the state of the science regarding the impact of physical activity in the prevention and treatment of overweight and obesity. The workshop also highlighted innovative strategies for promoting physical activity across different segments of the population.
The report summarizes the presentations and discussions from this workshop. Topics of discuss at the workshop included community, institutional, and policy strategies for promoting physical activity all of which touched on transportation and planning.
