Naturalistic Bicycling Behavior Pilot Study
The Florida Department of Transportation has released a report that examines data from a naturalistic bicycling behavior pilot study in Tampa Bay, Florida to determine contributing factors to bicycling crashes. Additionally, the report explores the behavior, experience, and interactions between bicyclists and drivers making right or left turns at intersections; interactions between bicyclists and drivers at night; bicyclist route-choice decisions with given origins and destinations; and the influence of formal bicycle-riding training on riders.
