The first International Symposium on Long-lived Bridges was held on June 8 and 10 in Brussels, Belgium, during TRA 2010. This was the third symposium organized in collaboration with the Forum of European National Highway Research Laboratories (FEHRL).

In August SHRP 2 Director Neil Hawks attended the final conference
on the Assessment and Rehabilitation of Central European Highway
Structures (ARCHES) and Sustainable Pavements for European New Member
States (SPENS) research projects on bridge and pavement research in
Ljubljana, Slovenia. These Renewal-related research programs were
sponsored by the European Union and managed by the Forum of European
Highway Research Laboratories (FEHRL). Neil Hawks’ presentation included
information about SHRP 2 projects—on modular pavement technology,
railroad/DOT coordination, and bridges designed for 100+ years of
service life—and plans for implementation. A video of the lecture is available. |

The second International Symposium on Non-Destructive Testing for Design Evaluation and Construction Inspection was held on April 25, 2008 in Ljubljana, Slovenia during TRA 2008. This was the second symposium organized in collaboration with the Forum of European National Highway Research Laboratories (FEHRL).

The first International Symposium on Non-Destructive Testing for Design Evaluation and Construction Inspection held January 18, 2008 in Washington, DC, drew more than 140 members of the international highway renewal community. This was the first of two symposia organized in collaboration with the Forum of European National Highway Research Laboratories (FEHRL).
