Green Infrastructure Techniques for Resilience of the Oregon Coast Highway
The U.S. Federal Highway Administration has released a report that provides information about dynamic revetments, also known as cobble beaches or berms, and incorporates lessons learned from similar projects. The report builds upon previous research from the Oregon Department of Transportation, which analyzed how green infrastructure may protect the Oregon Coast Highway from the impacts of extreme storms and coastal bluff erosion. This study seeks to demonstrate the design options that could be permitted and constructed under the current regulations.
