Ultra-Thin Bonded Wearing Course (UTBWC) Snow, Ice, and Wind Effects
The Minnesota Department of Transportation has released a synthesis report that investigates the effects of snow, ice, and wind on ultra-thin bonded wearing course (UTBWC) pavements. UTBWC was developed as a preventative maintenance option to extend pavement life by placing a thin open/gap-graded hot mix asphalt lift over a polymer-modified asphalt emulsion.
