2017 FARS/CRSS Coding and Validation Manual
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has released a manual that provides guidance for coding data elements at the crash level, vehicle level, driver level, precrash level and person level. It also highlights the changes to the 2017 manual. The Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) and Crash Report Sampling System (CRSS) are used to collect motor vehicle crash data from across the United States.
