Development and Demonstration of a Cost-Effective In-Vehicle Lane Departure and Advance Curve Speed Warning System
The Center for Transportation Studies at the University of Minnesota has released a report that illustrates a lane-departure detection method that compares a vehicle’s trajectory to a reference road direction. The goal of this report is to develop a lane-departure system that does not rely upon digital maps. Lane-departure warning systems and advance curve-warning systems use digital maps, which have limitations like harsh weather or irregular lane markings.
