Benchmarking Accessibility in Cities: Measuring the Impact of Proximity and Transport Performance
The International Transport Forum has released a report that describes a new urban accessibility framework. The framework identifies which destinations are reached on foot, by bicycle, public transportation, or car within a certain time (accessibility). It then measures how many destinations are close by (proximity). The comparison between accessibility and proximity illustrates how well each transportation mode performs.
