MD DOT: Appropriate grass species along roadsides
Grass species that perform well on roadsides are identified in Identification of
Low Growing, Salt Tolerant Turfgrass Species Suitable for Use Along Highway Right of Way – Field Trials, a report from the Maryland Department of Transportation. The goal of this report is to determine which low growing roadside grasses require less maintenance but establish rapidly, are resilient in the harsh roadside environment, and are available and affordable through commercial growers.
