Program
The meeting program covers all transportation modes, with sessions and workshops addressing topics of interest to policy makers, administrators, practitioners, researchers, and representatives of government, industry, and academic institutions. A number of sessions and workshops focus on the spotlight theme for the 2023 meeting: Rejuvenation Out of Disruption: Envisioning a Transportation System for a Dynamic Future.

TRB’s volunteer technical committees organize the sessions and workshops at the Annual Meeting. They also hold committee meetings throughout the week of the meeting, and most of them are open to the public. With more than 170 committees, almost every transportation mode and topic is represented.

The focus of the fireside chat will be on the Joint Office on Energy and Transportation which “was created through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) to facilitate collaboration between the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Transportation. The Joint Office will align resources and expertise across the two departments toward leveraged outcomes. The office will be a critical component in the implementation of the BIL, providing support and expertise to a multitude of programs that seek to deploy a network of electric vehicle chargers, zero-emission fueling infrastructure, and zero-emission transit and school buses. The scope of the Joint Office will continue to evolve as directed by both departments.”
Chair’s Plenary Session Video

National Transportation Safety Board Chair, Jennifer Homendy, will provide the keynote address at the Chair's Plenary Session on Wednesday, January 11. Chair Homendy has used her national platform to focus on protecting vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcyclists, and people with disabilities.
Thomas B. Deen Distinguished Lectureship Video

Mr. Charles A. Fuhs III, Principal, Chuck Fuhs, LLC is the 2023 recipient of the Thomas B. Deen Distinguished Lectureship. Mr. Fuhs is recognized for his contributions to the advancement of congestion management applications on urban freeways, with particular focus on managed lanes. Mr. Fuhs will deliver his lecture, “Re-envisioning Mobility on Urban Freeways: The Emergence and Evolving Roles of Managed Lanes,” on Monday, January 9, 2023. More

The session includes a networking segment to introduce you to the committee leadership in your area of interest—a first step in your journey to establishing lifelong professional networks through TRB.
Exhibit Hall Opening Reception
Sunday, January 8, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Visit the nearly 200 exhibits, showcasing a wide range of transportation-related products and services. While there, stop by the TRB booths, to learn about TRB programs and resources. This popular reception includes light hors d’oeuvres and cash bars.
