For the Media:
TRB, part of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, manages practical and applied transportation
research, provides
advice to the federal government, and
convenes experts in hundreds of transportation topics. As many as 8,000 volunteer experts participate in more than 200 TRB Standing Committees. In addition, TRB manages the production of independent, expertly-authored reports on a plethora of transportation issues.
TRB's Communications Office can connect reporters to experts through using its database of volunteer committee members and authors. These experts are volunteers and contractors, and are not speaking on behalf of TRB or the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
Media requests related to publications that include the title of "TRB Special Report" should contact the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine's Office of News and Public Information at 202-334-2138.
Members of the media should consider attending
TRB’s Annual Meeting, which takes place each January in Washington, D.C., at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Accredited media receive complimentary registration. Registrants must pay their own hotel and travel expenses.
