TRB Webinar: Current Trends at Airports: Rights and Responsibilities on November 14, 2011

TRB conducted a web briefing or "webinar" on November 14, 2011 that featured research developed by TRB’s Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) related to self-fueling and land development issues, as covered in ACRP Legal Research Digest 8: The Right to Self-Fuel, and in ACRP Report 47: Guidebook for Developing and Leasing Airport Property. View the recorded webinar.

Webinar learning objectives:
Audience members will gain an understanding of emerging rights and responsibilities of airport operators related to several issues, including self-fueling and land development.

Presentations by:
•    C. Daniel Prather, Prather Airport Solutions
•    Brett W. Fay, Lakeland Linder Regional Airport
•    Rick Crider, RW Armstrong

Moderated by Mike Salamone, Transportation Research Board

Dan Prather and Brett Fay will explore the meaning of and constraints involved with self-fueling at airports.  Rick Crider will discuss issues associated with developing and leasing available airport land and will summarize best practices from the perspective of the airport sponsor.  He will present case studies that show several approaches that airports have taken to develop and lease property for both aeronautical uses and non-aeronautical uses.
