Diversifying TRB’s Standing Technical Committees

TRB volunteers are members of our more than 175 standing technical committees who propose research ideas, share research findings, sponsor special events, and lead discussions on critical issues. Thanks to the efforts of many, committee members increasingly report that they are part of communities that are under-represented in transportation. This year’s incoming committee chairs represent an increase from 3% to 8% who self-report as under-represented racial or ethnic minorities and an increase from 28% to 55% who identify as female. Committee membership is diversifying across the board. Update your profile in MyTRB.org to ensure that TRB represents the diverse transportation community.

Improving Equity in Transportation

TRB Volunteers who are members or friends of various TRB standing technical committees answered our question, "During LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, what relevant resources and research needs do you find most valuable to improving equity in transportation?" Read important insights from Karen Philbrick of the Mineta Transporation Institute. Thank you, Karen!
