TRB Minority Student Fellows - Hispanic Heritage Month

"As a proud member of the 2019-2020 cohort, I can attest to the incredible journey this program offers to minority students pursuing careers in transportation and related fields," says Benjamin Arras.

"During this time, I was pursuing my doctoral degree in civil engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso while working at the Center for Transportation Infrastructure Systems, and being part of a Minority-Serving Institution added a unique dimension to my experience. Job Openings at TRB

• Senior Program Officer. This position focuses on projects primarily in the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) and on a wide variety of topics such as airport operations, construction, and administration.
• Senior Program Officer. This position is in TRB's Technical Activities Division and will be responsible primarily for managing standing committees in the Policy and Organization Group.
• Senior Program Officer. This position focuses on projects primarily in the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) and on the topics of materials science and pavement design, preservation, and maintenance, as well as potentially a wider variety of transportation topics.

Emissions from Ground Transportation Addressed in New Report

Emissions from surface traffic can be a substantial portion of carbon emissions at an airport. Airport Programs That Reduce Landside Vehicle Carbon Emissions (ACRP Synthesis 127), released this week by TRB's Airport Cooperative Research Program, provides information on the use of airport programs or initiatives that reduce carbon emissions from vehicles accessing the airport.
