TRB conducted a webinar on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM ET that explored how to use Drainage Requirements in Pavement (DRIP) software to design effective drainage systems for pavements. The absence of adequate drainage in pavements may lead to premature distress or failure of the pavement system, especially regarding load carrying capacity. The DRIP software, which can be downloaded online for free, may provide an objective way to calculate the time to drain and depth of flow of drainage layers. Presenters described samples of pavement failure due to lack of proper drainage, demonstrated the DRIP software, and discussed potential benefits of pavement drainage and maintenance.
This webinar was organized by the TRB Standing Committees on Subsurface Drainage and Geosynthetics.
