Prototype Software for an Environmental Information Management and Decision Support System

TRB’s National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Research Results Digest 317: Prototype Software for an Environmental Information Management and Decision Support System explores an effort to design, test, and demonstrate a prototype software program for an environmental information management system (EIMS) that state departments of transportation and others could use to support their environmental decision making throughout the transportation system management process.  The EIMS is intended to serve as one component of an agency’s broader environmental management system (EMS).  The project resulted in prototype software designed to support environmental management for transportation and planning agencies. The final report, including a user’s guide, is available as  NCHRP Web-Only Document 103.
