Review of Practices in U.S. DOT’s Frequent Flier Programs
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) Office of Inspector General has released a report that evaluates the USDOT’s oversight of air carriers’ compliance with frequent flyer program disclosure requirements, processes for reviewing passenger complaints regarding unfair and deceptive practices, and airlines’ practices regarding of award seats and valuation of frequent flyer miles.
