Child Restraint System Data Collection in NHTSA’s Crash Investigation Programs
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has released a report that describes the evolution of data collection of child restraints systems (CRS) in NHTSA’s primary crash investigation programs since 1975. NHTSA consults regularly with other stakeholders – law enforcement, child safety advocates, the medical community, research organizations – on CRS-related issues to improve the overall recordation of CRS information and to improve data uniformity.
