Development of Engineered Materials Arresting Systems from 1994 through 2003
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has released a report that summarizes Engineered Materials Arresting Systems (EMAS) activities between 1994 and 2003. An EMAS installation is a bed of engineered materials built at the end of an airport runway to reduce the severity of the consequences of a runway overrun.
