Safety Evaluation of Turning Movement Restrictions at Stop-Controlled Intersections
The U.S. Federal Highway Administration has released a report that evaluates the safety effects of converting full movement, stop-controlled intersections to right-in-right-out operation using physical barriers. The intent of this strategy was to reduce the frequency and severity of crashes by eliminating left turns into and out of the target intersections—the highest severity conflicts at an intersection.
