Safety Evaluation of Protected Left-Turn Phasing and Leading Pedestrian Intervals on Pedestrian Safety
The U.S. Federal Highway Administration has released a report that evaluates the safety effects of two countermeasures for vehicle—pedestrian crashes: protected/permissive left-turn phasing and leading pedestrian intervals. The objective of this report is to develop statistically rigorous crash modification factors for these countermeasures.
