Light Rail Transit: Planning and Technology
TRB Special Report 182 - Light Rail Transit: Planning and Technology includes the proceedings of a conference on Light Rail Transit. The conference examined light rail transit (LRT) successes, issues that have frustrated significant LRT development in the U.S., and where and how progress has been achieved. The basic dichotomy between socioeconomic and technological issues in the implementation of LRT is reflected in papers on such topics as network planning, joint development opportunities, and the formulation of functional specifications and fare collection, traffic engineering and power supply.
