Transportation Project Impact Case Studies (T-PICS)
T-PICS contains a database of case studies of built transportation projects and pre/post project data regarding their impacts on the economy of proposed new projects by providing information on the range of actual impacts observed from already-built projects. The system at this time contains information only for highway-related projects.

Recorded SHRP 2 Webinar: Web Tool to Assess Economic Impacts of Transportation Projects—T-PICS

SHRP 2 conducted a web briefing or “webinar” on May 25, 2010, that explored and demonstrated the
Transportation Project Impact Case Studies (T-PICS) web tool. T-PICS is designed to help organizations such as state departments of transportation, metropolitan planning organizations, and economic development agencies quickly assess the long-term economic impacts of highway capacity projects. A recording of the webinar is available in Windows Media Player format, and slides are available as a PDF.

Transportation Project Impact Case Studies (T-PICS)
is a web tool that provides access to a nationwide database of 100 case
studies that describe the pre- and post-construction economic
development effects of 11 kinds of transportation projects. With T-PICS
users can conduct “before and after” assessments of a range of projects,
compare case studies developed for each project to other similar
projects in the database, and view a wide range of information about
each of the case studies. The tool can also be used to estimate a range
of possible economic impacts that might result from constructing a
project. T-PICS is available at www.transportationforcommunities.com/t-pics.
