TRB conducted a webinar on May 23, 2013 from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. ET that explored the basics of an economic analysis tool called the Life-Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) and how it can be used in the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21) legislation. Contact Reggie Gillum at
RGillum@nas.edu for information on accessing a link to the recorded webinar.
LCCA is commonly used in pavement engineering to evaluate the cost of different alternatives for a project. In addition to explaining the need for LCCA and how it can be used in MAP-21, this webinar will define the necessary LCCA components, describe the best approaches for using LCCA, and explain the process to select a project for analysis.
This webinar was organized by the TRB Standing Committees on Rigid Pavement Design (AFD50), Pavement Management Systems (AFD10), Flexible Pavement Design (AFD60), Pavement Rehabilitation (AFD70), and Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (AFH50).
