Complimentary Annual Meeting registration will be granted to members of TRB's media list.
Requests to be added to TRB's media list should be made to
Russell Houston. Requests should include full contact information, as well as information on the media outlet, and/or links to recently published articles.
Please allow 10 business days for requests to be processed.
Media representatives should not begin the registration process for the Annual Meeting prior to completion of TRB's processing the request.
The TRB Annual Meeting program covers all transportation modes, with more than 4,000 presentations in nearly 650 sessions and workshops addressing topics of interest to all attendees—policy makers, administrators, practitioners, researchers, and representatives of government, industry, and academic institutions. The spotlight theme for the TRB 91st Annual Meeting is Transportation: Putting Innovation and People to Work.
Media registrants will have access to all TRB Annual Meeting sessions, the exhibit hall, and the Annual Meeting newsrooms located in the Marriott Wardman Park and the Washington Hilton hotels.
Shortly before the meeting, media registrants will receive access the Compendium of Papers for the 91th Annual Meeting through the TRB Annual Meeting Online portal. Following the meeting, the online portal will also provide access to Video Sessions--full audio and visual recordings of more than 40 selected high-profile sessions--and to more than 3,000 slide and poster presentations.
Perimeter seating (without food) during the Chairman's Luncheon on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, is available for media registrants. A separately purchased ticket (price: $65 before November 30th and $80 after November 30th) is required for the luncheon and table seating.
All media attendees will also have access to the Interactive Program where they can conduct searches by session title, paper title, keywords, author, and subject area in order to plan personalized itineraries.
The Annual Meeting news rooms will be located at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park, 2660 Woodley Road NW and the Washington Hilton,919 Connecticut Avenue NW;The news rooms will include media-restricted work and interview space, and TRB Annual Meeting press information.

Sunday, January 22 - 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Monday, January 23 - 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, January 24 - 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, January 25 - 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, January 26 - 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Media registrants wishing to access the Internet while in any of the news rooms will need to bring their own laptop computer compatible with the hotel’s Wi-Fi system. Fees associated with accessing the Internet via Wi-Fi are the responsibility of the media registrant. For Wi-Fi availability, compatibility, and pricing information, contact the appropriate hotel. News rooms will not be secure; media registrants are responsible for securing their personal belongings while at the Annual Meeting.
