Paper and Presentation Guides

| Q: May I submit a paper to be considered for presentation at an Annual Meeting Lectern or Poster Session? |
| A: The deadline for paper submission is August 1 each year. Refer to the Timeline on Paper and Presentation Guides for additional information. |

| Q: When will I be notified if my paper was accepted for presentation at the TRB Annual Meeting? |
| A: Invitations are sent in mid to late October. Refer to the Timeline on Paper and Presentation Guidesfor additional information. |

| Programming |
| Q: When is the full program available? |
| A: The Interactive Program is now available on the TRB website. The Interactive Program displays event hotel and room names, which are only viewable by registered attendees. Visit the Program page for more information. |

| Q: Where are Annual Meeting events held? |
| A: Meetings are held the Washington Marriott Wardman Park, Omni Shoreham, and Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. The exhibits are at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. The Interactive Program (available in early November) displays event hotel and room names; only registered attendees may view this information. Refer to the chart of Subject Areas of Interest & Hotel Locations that will serve as the locations for the majority of sessions and meetings for each subject area. |

| Q: How do I gain access to the Annual Meeting Compendium of Papers? |
| A: Advance-registrants will receive access to all the papers included in the Annual Meeting Compendium of Papers through the Annual Meeting Online portal in early January. Registrants will receive the Compendium of Papers flash drive and a copy of the Annual Meeting Final Program onsite. |

| Q: Can I receive Continuing Education Credits for my attendance at the Annual Meeting? |
| A: The Annual Meeting Final Program will include a credit statement form for Professional Development Hours (PDHs). Selected sessions approved for Continuing Maintenance credits for retaining American Institute of Certified Planners certification will be noted in both the Annual Meeting Interactive Program and the printed Final Program. Registration and Hotel Reservations

| Q: How do I register and pay for the meeting? |
| A: Online registration is strongly recommended. Payment by check (payable to TRB in U.S. funds drawn on a U.S. bank) must be submitted with the offline registration form. Check payments require additional processing time and if payment is not received, registration materials cannot be mailed in advance or distributed onsite and a hotel room cannot be reserved. Only domestic government agencies and universities may submit purchase orders (Federal Identification 53-0196932). Wire transfers are not accepted. Visit the Registration page for more information. |

| Q: How do I reserve a hotel room at a TRB hotel for the Annual meeting? |
| A: Annual Meeting attendee registration is required to obtain a hotel reservation. A hotel reservation may be made through the TRB Housing Bureau at the time you register for the meeting. Hotel reservations will be accepted through December 18, 2012 or until the TRB room block is sold out. A credit card guarantee is required to secure a reservation. It may be a different credit card than the card used to pay for registration. |

| A: TRB registration desks are located at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park, Washington Hilton, and Omni Shoreham hotels. |

Associated Groups
|
| Q: How do organizations hold meetings in conjunction with the TRB Annual Meeting? |
| A: Meeting space may be provided to government and non-profit organizations only. Interested organizations must complete the Request for Function Space form. Meeting rooms are very limited and are provided on a space available/first come first served basis. Visit the Associated Groups page for more information. |

| Q: How do I register as a member of the Media? |
| A: Media inquiries should be directed to Russell Houston at RHouston@NAS.edu. TRB's response to requests to be added to TRB's media list will be based on its definition of media. Advance media registration is recommended. |

| Q: I need a visa to attend the TRB 92nd Annual Meeting. How do I obtain a letter of invitation? |
| A: If you will require a visa to enter the United States to attend the TRB 92nd Annual Meeting, begin planning for the application process now. Visit the International Participationpage for additional information. |

| Q: I am a TRB affiliate member, can I renew my membership when I register for the Annual Meeting? |
| A: Yes, TRB affiliate members are encouraged to renew their membership when registering for the Annual Meeting if their membership expires prior to January 1, 2013 to qualify for the discounted registration fee. |
