Taking Science to School: Learning and Teaching Science in Grades K-8
The Board on Science Education, part of the National Academies' Center for Education and the Board on Science Education, Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences and Education, has released a report that provides a comprehensive picture of what we know about teaching and learning science from kindergarten through eighth grade. The report explores how science is learned and the critical stages in children’s development of scientific concepts. The report also examines how science should be taught in K-8 classrooms and what research is needed to increase understanding about how students learn science.
