TRB Webinar: Small Airports: Practical Guidance for Survival on December 5, 2011

TRB conducted a web briefing or "webinar" on December 5, 2011 that featured research developed by TRB’s Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) related to challenges small airports are facing, as covered in ACRP Report 44: Preservation of Public-Use Airports, and ACRP Report 28: Marketing for Small Airports. The recorded webinar is available to be viewed on our website.

Webinar learning objectives:
The audience will learn what factors often lead to the closure of a public-use airport and a variety of strategies that may help to prevent closure.  In addition, many of these same airports find they need to take active steps to communicate the value and contribution that the airport brings to a community.  The webinar will highlight practical steps to develop a marketing plan and explore some of the techniques that small airports are using to achieve their marketing goals.

Presentations by:
Tom Thatcher, L.R. Kimball
Laurie Cullen, HNTB
Lois Kramer, KRAMER Aerotek Inc.

Moderated by Mike Salamone, Transportation Research Board
