TRB will organize and conduct a conference on the organizational structures and roles of metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) in statewide planning and regional decision making. The conference will provide a forum to discuss and compare how MPOs are structured and how they operate to meet their wide-ranging, and growing, responsibilities. Future research needs will also be discussed.
