SHRP 2 ANNUAL REPORT FOR 2007 RELEASED

Asking Why to Learn How, the newly released SHRP 2 Annual Report for 2007 highlights progress SHRP 2 has made over the past year in addressing the issues of highway safety, renewal, travel time reliability, and capacity. The report includes an overview of the program, the goals of the four research focus areas, information on current projects, a description of the outreach activities of the program, administrative and financial information, and acknowledgment of the people who served SHRP 2 in 2007.

The second International Symposium on Non-Destructive Testing for Design Evaluation and Construction Inspection was held on April 25, 2008 in Ljubljana, Slovenia during TRA 2008. This was the second symposium organized in collaboration with the Forum of European National Highway Research Laboratories (FEHRL).

The first International Symposium on Non-Destructive Testing for Design Evaluation and Construction Inspection held January 18, 2008 in Washington, DC, drew more than 140 members of the international highway renewal community. This was the first of two symposia organized in collaboration with the Forum of European National Highway Research Laboratories (FEHRL).

The SHRP 2 Web site now offers a way for researchers to indicate their interest in teaming
with others to collaborate on proposals for SHRP 2 research. The Contractor Expression of Interest
form allows organizations to list information about their qualifications, interests, and facilities. The list is solely for the benefit of proposers;
SHRP 2 does not verify or use the information in any way.
News and announcements associated with SHRP 2 and other parts
of TRB are regularly included in TRB’s e-newsletter. The e-newsletter is a
free, weekly electronic service designed to keep subscribers up-to-date on the
activities of TRB and on selected transportation research activities taking
place at the federal, state, academic, and international levels.
