TRB Webinar: Ensuring Productive Regional Freight Operations and its Economic Benefits

TRB conducted a webinar on February 26, 2014, from 2:00pm to 3:30pm ET that explored the role of goods movement in our nation's economic well-being and the parts that traffic engineering, transportation operations, and planning play in ensuring safe, efficient freight operations. The webinar provided examples of collaboration and improved regional freight operations. In addition, webinar presenters will review the results of a recent survey on freight and operations that highlight the need for more research and improved outreach on regional freight operations and economic benefits. • PART 4: Question and answer session

The first 60 minutes of the webinar will be for presentations and the final 30 minutes will be reserved for audience questions.

• Identify the need for improved freight and transportation operations partnerships and the economic consequences of noncollaboration;
• Summarize freight operations performance measures, economic indicators, and how technology and a large regional perspective can have significant impacts on the freight operations community; and
