TRB Webinar: Field Performance of Corrugated Pipes Manufactured with Recycled Materials
TRB conducted a webinar on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM ET that featured research from the
National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP)’s
Research Report 870: Field Performance of Corrugated Pipe Manufactured with Recycled Polyethylene Content.
This webinar discussed how to evaluate the field performance of corrugated high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes manufactured with post-consumer and post-industrial recycled materials. The presenter discussed the Un-Notched Constant Ligament Stress Test, a new test method that provides the basis for a service life prediction model. This model may more accurately determine the service life of corrugated HDPE pipes as well as ensure that the pipes meet a specified service life.
