TRB Straight to Recording for All: Bridges as Philanthropy
TRB released a series of recorded videos in November 2017 that examine the means and methods used to construct footbridges in remote areas in developing countries, such as Sub-Saharan Africa. These bridges may enable safe access across rivers and improve the quality of life. The videos describe the lessons learned from building bridges in Africa and provide designs that may be used by local unskilled labor with little material resources.
This series was organized by the Standing Committee on General Structures. The videos are available on-demand at no cost.
