TRB Webinar: Give the “All Clear” – Hazard Zoning at General Aviation Airports

Airport personnel were invited to a TRB webinar on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM ET. The webinar features research from the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP).

States and local jurisdictions have enacted and implemented airport height, hazards, and land use compatibility zoning laws to varying degrees. Webinar presenters evaluated the effectiveness of these laws in preventing flight hazards and incompatible land uses around general aviation (GA) airports. They discussed how key aviation stakeholders can assist local governments in establishing and implementing more effective airport land use compatibility measures.

The slides are available.

Webinar Presenters:

  • Maranda Thompson, Mead & Hunt
  • Mihir Shah, Arora Engineers
  • Stephanie Ward, Mead & Hunt

Moderated by: Joshua Abramson, Easterwood Airport
